It takes time - and quite honestly, we need to start small and upwards. I am a life "big" straw hat, and had my first opportunity as director of the health work in the maritime transport of cargo. I have 7 years - before the receipt of an offer from Honeywell Inc., the captain of his yacht Executive - Porter footers 280 - complete with dining room and has luxury suites for guests, etc., Royal Caribbean is not - but was a dream boat and it was a dream race for me. It was absolutely the luxury yacht that I have ever seen, let alone established). Almost a 1 to 1 employee for every guest ... Two TME consignaires text, leaders, cooks, waiters, chambermaids, porters, including --
It is used primarily to entertain his Fortune 500 company executives and government.
Most cruise captains met or spoken to have 7 or more years spent either in shipping or the oil industry and then work as an officer on a cruise line 7 (or more) years before becomin a "Master Staff" and then expect orut turn to take command as captain of his own ship.
My suggestion is that if you want a job, call or get in contact and request for information (I know they have Career Day and Job Fairs to attend.)
I am a veteran ... and although I think this experience is worth one million more than that, what was paid - I honestly do not believe that military service can help you in any way to get a job as captain of a cruise ship to. .. unless you get a real sailor's first entering the Navy (and official) Secondly, and make a career of 20 years in the Navy with the command of his own ship. At this stage, approximately 42 years (or less), and have a Navy pension of $ 100,000, and then you can take command of his ship in the Royal Caribbean, (if still active) and not to any other treatment $ 300,000 per year. .. with them and retire from this job if my age - and two pensions ...

Suggest a degree in marine sciences. And I suggest you work on the master license, which allows nearly unlimited control of a vessel in aSize of New York.
The only way I know to this link, and get control of your own ship before - is to buy the company ... (Do not laugh - it happens every day ...) and see how Royal Caribbean has only about 20 vessels of something, this may be the best choice ... They have the command to you is as old as me ... lol

Good luck,
Happy & Safe Boating!

If you go to a naval school, on the fast track to licenses and the time of the sea, you will need to be preserved. There are six maritime academies in the law of the United States. If you have a university degree, and the third license teammates. As you work your way into the ranks. I also encourage you to learn several languages if you want the captain of a ship must be able to speak the languages of the crew to communicate with port officials.

The shortest way to a master license Oceans Unlimited (which is what we need a captain in the Royal Caribbean) is to go to an academy (or the Academy of Shipping in the U.S. King 's Point or a business school like the California Maritime Academy). This will get a four-year college, and 3 Mate Oceans Unlimited Tonnage License. Therefore, it is a matter of time mate at sea, 2, Chief Mate and Master. Without going into the gym, your next best bet is to get the unlimited ocean tonnage of ships in a common marine, and work the hawse pipe. International Union of Seafarers (I'm just a fan of the SIU, but here) has done most of the financial framework for the vessels flying the American flag above the sea, and have excellent AB - to - Mate program is in the same place downloaded, the academies, without school, 3 Mate Oceans Unlimited.
If you're not independently wealthy, do not try to climb the ladder of 'tonnage. You get up to 200 tons of Main near the coast and the interior gross all mastered and then comedecrease too much if it is about $ 30K in tuition coughing, but not at work during one year. There is always a gap clever here - you can skip directly to the internal control system to use AGT for the ocean, not the schools - but it will certainly fill the legal vacuum, if you are willing to.

Oh, and pay when about $ 125K/Year for six months / years of work.

There are 7 state maritime academies (Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, California, Texas and two in New York, I believe) in the United States, also of Kings Point, which is free. 4 years there, and you should be prepared to have a licensed 3rd Partners participate. I years sea service time required, 2 upgrade, one for the major and a captain. Unfortunately, just because your captains license does not mean that it never. There are two companions on the boat, I am now left with the licensing of masters, but the plans for the industry because he had waited for years and wants something else, before trying too old, too. Paying for a cruise ship with the American flag (there is only one still left, and Norwegian Cruise Lines ship) is about $ 20,000 per month. In the Bahamas, Panama, Liberia, the Isle of Martial, ships flying the Greek flag is likely to pay about $ 4000 per month.
